I drink a ton of coffee. I need to clean my coffee pot often but what is the best way to do it? Lately I have learned that my boyfriend re-runs the already made coffee back through the coffee maker. I told him to never to do that again. But if he reverts back to his old habits what is the best way to clean the coffee maker? Home remedies or store-bought I need something so my coffee can start tasting better.

Water with some white vinegar (I usually do 2 parts water to 1 part vinegar), run that through your coffee maker, then do just water a few times.
That is usually the way people clean their coffee makers

fill with ice, add in 1/2 cup lemon juice, and 1/4 c salt.
swirl it all around for about 2 mins.
voila, spotless and clear coffee pot.

The maker itself: run a 1:1 mixture of water and white vinegar. It’s gonna stink! But it will clean your coffee maker out. Run two cycles of water through it afterwords to flush the vinegar out.
For the pot: Ice and salt.
Fill it about 3/4 full with ice and then pour a lot of salt in there. It will be abrasive enough to clean your coffee pot, but not damage it. Do not use any cleaners. It will leave an after taste in your pot.
White vinegar is often run through coffee makers, mixed with water, to thoroughly clean them. I believe the mix should be 50/50 water and vinegar, run throught the coffee maker as if you were making coffee. Then run a cycle with just water, to clear everything out. It’s a little stinky when you do the vinegar and water cycle but it really works.
Run a couple cups of vinegar with the rest water through the coffee maker…then just run water through it. the pot itself can be cleaned with lemon juice and salt…shake it up. the wash as you normaly would

Put a paper filter in the filter basket, and fill the coffee pot up with white vinegar. Pour the vinegar into the water resevior, and start the brewing process. When the coffee pot is half-filled with heated vinegar, shut off the coffee maker and let it sit for about an hour. Come back, and finish the brewing cycle. Dump the heated vinegar down the drain, and run 2 or 3 pots of clean, fresh water through the brewing cycle — be sure to use fresh, cold water for each brewing cycle or you could burn out the heater in the water reservior. Vinegar is mildly acidic, and it should remove any hard water deposits or other nastiness from the insides of your coffee maker.
bleach water
vinegar and water works well…just make sure you run your machine with plain clear water several times before making coffee with it again. Vinegar and water on washing the pot itself works well also. Salt water also works well in the pot too!
Soak in Hot water and little bit dish soap. Then clean with a new sponge and rinse off with cold water until no soap residue left! Dont towel dry- it will look clean and crystal clear!
Mix water and vinegar. Points yay points!

Try denture cleanser, soak overnight then rinse very well. Great for stained decanters, jugs etc, as well.
Clean the coffee maker by adding about 1/2 cup of white vinegar to the water, and run the maker through a cycle without any coffee.
Dump that water, and then add clean water, and run the coffee maker through another cycle. BTW – This should be done about once a month… more if you use it a lot, and the water in your area is “hard”
As for the coffee pot. I clean mine in the dish washer on the top rack. You can also buy comically available coffee pot and coffee maker cleaners.
Check in your super market in the cleaning supplies. Or check in a restaurant supply company.
The next time your “guy” runs coffee through your coffee maker, throw him out!
I run white vinegar threw my coffe maker and then wash my pot with hot soapy dish water………Put a filter in the basket just like you where going to make coffee and then cycle that vinegar threw there and wash that pot, you are done
