I have owned this little baby for about 2 weeks now and just love it!
A quick question about safety / pressure valve on Moka Express. I was told that you should check the valve regularly, but I am a bit confused as to how to “check” it. Should I unscrew the valve, see if there is any clog inside, if there is, clean it, then screw it back?
PLEASE let me know, cause I really don’t want mine to explode on my stove top!
Thanks so much!

Just curious, after reading your reviews, it sounds like u were looking for ease, but it sounds like a lot of steps. Bialetti makes one that u put the water in the bottom, the coffee in the filter and the milk in the top! Now THAT IS EASY and delicious…Just wanted to let u know there IS an easier way! That way you do not have to heat up the milk separately (or before the coffee as one reviewer mentioned). I have one just for ease of use, but am getting a Breville DIE CAST (Williams Sonoma)and with those top notch machines, you can put the cups on the top and they get warmed….But for an easy quicky machine, the Bialetti’s can’t be beat!

For business, I have traveled a lot in Italy and France. Some of my colleagues have invested in the super automatic types of machines that go for $1,000 or so. The coffee they have served me is great, but I just couldn’t justify the expense. This set from Bialetti is amazing. The quality of the brew is just as good as a professional cafĂ© and the milk frother has better results than some of the machines my friends have. I have noticed that it seems to perform slightly better with a slightly coarser grind. If buying already ground espresso, the Lavazza seams to brew slightly better than the illy. But maybe that’s just me.

I used to live in Milan, Italy, and this is the exact brand and model of coffee maker every household has there. The frother makes the best froth, I used to work at a coffee shop and could never imitate the silky froth this frother makes. And the best thing about it, it stays foamy! It doesn’t dissapear after 5 minutes like other steam frothers.
The only downside about the coffee perculator is that it only makes about 4 shots of espresso at a time, enough for two possibly three cups of coffee. So if you plan on using it for entertaining, which I’ve come to find is my case, then I suggest getting a bigger perculator, or at least an extra one. When I first got this, I was planning on using it for myself only. Until one day I made coffee for a friend, and the word spread that I made the best coffee ever… and now I get weekends guests who expect coffee all the time. I have started to ask people to please try and restock the coffee they drink!
All in all, great product, highly recommended.

For an espresso lover who doesn’t want to shell out the big bucks for a starbucks or a crazy machine, this is the best! I love how old school it looks and it makes delicious espresso.
